Candice Swanepoel Skincare Secrets

I’m pretty neurotic about keeping my skin clean. In the morning I wash with rosewater spray and I use a rich moisturizer and sunscreen every day.

It’s really the same as the morning, but I apply an eye cream at night and also switch to a richer moisturizer.

In the winter, my skin is drier so I like products that hydrate the skin.

I like fragrances with jasmine; I often use jasmine oil instead of perfume.

Drinking coconut water and things that hydrate your body also helps, as well as taking care of your skin.

My favorite VS fragrance is Bombshell—it’s classic. I like to switch up fragrances depending on my mood!

I wash my face as soon as I finish work because we have makeup on every day. It’s really important to keep it clean.

Body-wise, I moisturize a lot and I do a lot of scrubs to renew skin.

My skin is sensitive, so I use a green-tea face wash and tea-tree oil. I like coconut oil on my body.

When I’m finished working, the first thing I do is clean my face. For my body, I’m always moisturizing. Since I was a little girl I would be rubbing with cream, it’s like a ritual!

My mom taught me from a very young age to take care of my skin and not to tan too much.

Because I travel so much it’s really important for me to stay moisturized. I always have rosewater spray with me wherever I am. It’s very relieving.

I try and keep my beauty regime pretty simple — no products that are too strong. I lean towards more natural products.

Candice Swanepoel Makeup Secrets

I love a clean lid with black eyeliner and lots of lashes. I love a cat eye!

I don’t like too much eye shadow, so I concentrate more on my skin.

I don’t really wear a color since my lips are pretty red. I like VS Makeup Perfect Lipstick in Sweet Nothing since it’s close to my natural lip color. I also use Dolce Vita Velvet Matte Lip Pencil by NARS.

When I go to the salon, I want to get neon shades, but they always take it off when I work. I wear Essie’s Mademoiselle since it’s natural. When I want to wear color, I often opt for blues and turquoises on my toes.

I use Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Balm. I have them everywhere in my apartment and in all of my handbags.

Products you should never leave home without; I would say lip balm and your favorite scent.

Victoria’s Secret’s liner—I love to give myself a sexy feline eye. And Fresh Tinted Lip Treatment balms.

Dab highlighter on the bow of your lips for a fuller pout.

I use [NARS] illuminator a lot on my cheekbones– you can put it on your nose and on the bow of your lips. I always think skin looks better if it’s glowing so that’s a good trick.

If I’m not working I don’t wear a lot of makeup but I always have a concealer or a great lipstick in my bag. I like to do a red lip if I’m tan!

I think it’s important to have a good mascara that goes on evenly that doesn’t clump and if you’re not wearing any makeup just whack that on. Something else I do on my own, a black cat-eye line and then natural on the rest of the eye.

I’d have to say [thge best beauty advice is to]… never to sleep with your makeup on.

Candice Swanepoel Hair Secrets

I often get trims once a month from people I know, such as Shay Ashual and Rebecca Forecast.

I’m always finding new hair products that moisturize and repair. I sleep with hair masks and when I get my hair colored, I never get it blow dried—I leave the salon with a hair mask.

It’s not good to wash your hair all the time, so sometimes I rinse my hair with water to keep in the natural oils.

I like Moroccanoil and Victoria’s Secret So Sexy hair products—both brands smell amazing.

I use Oribe treatments—I’ll put in his leave-in conditioner and let it sit for an hour.

Victoria’s Secret has the So Sexy shampoo and conditioner for colored hair — it’s really good and it smells amazing! It’s like you put perfume, on but you really just washed your hair. It’s also important to put a mask on every now and then.

For blondes it’s really important to keep your hair moisturized, and because our hair is worked on every day I use a lot of deep conditioning stuff. Kérastase is one of my favorite brands.

A good trim every couple of months [is the secret to healthy hair] … and of course, Victoria’s Secret So Sexy Color Protect & Revive Shampoo and Conditioner.

Candice Swanepoel Diet Secrets

A positive attitude and low stress levels keep you young and beautiful.

I also think that eating healthfully contributes to looking young.

My favorite meal! Usually bacon, eggs, toast, a croissant, and fruit.

I have to eat a lot because my metabolism is nuts, although I don’t know how long it’ll be like that!

I stay away from soda before a photo shoot to limit bloating.

There’s nothing worse than being full and trying to feel sexy.

To feel good and healthy I eat a lot of vegetables, drink a lot of water, and I eat a lot of meat like steak because I want to build muscle.

Eat as healthy as you can, lots of greens. But listen to your body and your cravings.

Candice Swanepoel Fitness Secrets

I love boxing, Pilates, and yoga.

I’m doing a lot more work with weights to keep muscle tone.

Kickboxing! I like that, as well as keeping fit, I can protect myself.

[When preparing for a show] I work out like a maniac… I’ll box in the morning and then I’ll do Pilates at night. I also do a lot with resistance bands.

[Yoga is] one of my new favorite ways; I just started doing more. It’s nice to just be able to stretch and work on your body but also your mind.

Boxing has always worked really well for me as a full-body workout. I like something that’s fast; you really feel like you’re getting the energy up.

Butt for me is really important so [my trainer and I] always end with butt lifts on all fours. If I haven’t seen him in awhile the whole session is butt!

If I’m shooting on the beach it’s good to run in the sand.

I love feeling fit and strong and healthy. Life is better for me that way.

Jumping rope [is my favorite cardio exercise]. I just started and I’m hooked.

I box, I do a lot of resistance, three times a week.
