Jessica Gomes Skincare Secrets and Routine

Asian women have amazing skin and there’s a science behind it. They use botanicals like green tea, ginseng, and rice, ingredients that are all-natural and high in antioxidants, so that’s my secret!

Always drink lot’s of water. It keeps your metabolism moving and it’s great for your skin.

It’s so important I don’t get dehydrated, as it shows in my skin. I’ll take these hydrating cloth masks from Amore Pacific and wear it during a long flight! They come in packets so they are easy to throw in your bag and then dispose of when you’re done!

And every morning and every night, I cleanse my face and moisturize. I always make sure I get all my makeup off at the end of the day, no matter what, and exfoliate twice a week.

I usually do a salt scrub and then get a spray tan before a big photo shoot. Even an over-the-counter self-tanner works as well, just to give you that natural glow and make you feel more confident!

I love The Body Deli’s body scrubs and Lavender Sorbet Oil.

I love colonics and seaweed wraps. Deep tissue is my favorite massage. When I’m in Bondi, I love going to The Last Resort for a scrub and massage.

I cleanse and exfoliate with Aesop and I steam my face.

[My beauty bargain is] Suvana Certified Organic Paw Paw & Honey Balm.

You have to make sure you take fish oil and vitamins because they’re really beneficial for your body and hair and they’re a great way for you to look after your body.

My secret to beautiful skin and hair is eating a healthy diet, which includes lots of fruits and vegetables. I also eat a lot of fish for their high omega-3 content, as well as taking fish oil supplements to help keep my hair shiny and my skin glowing. Oh, and I drink lots of water!

[I can’t live without] Lucas Paw Paw Ointment from Australia and Laura Mercier Tinted SPF Moisturizer.

[My favorite drugstore products are] New Skin for my blisters, Trident Sweet and Sour Strawberry Gum, and Venus Razors.

[My favorite scent is] Tom Ford Santal Blush.

[In the summer I wear] Becca Luminous Skin Colour and a paw paw lip balm.

[To make makeup last in the heat I use] Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer.

I love [Rae Morris] brushes – they’re so soft and feel good!

[In my bag you’ll find] Hourglass Extreme Sheen Lip Gloss in Child and Illume Crème-to-Powder Bronze Duo in Sunset.

Jessica Gomes Diet Secrets and Routine

I just have one rule; I try and stay away from breads and pastas! Other than that, I eat everything! I follow the Paleo Diet (also known as The Cavewoman Diet) which works really well for me. Anything that can swim, run, or is grown from the ground is allowed on the diet.

For lunch I’ll usually have a salad or veggies or rice beans and broccoli but I try to mix up the food I eat, otherwise it can be very boring and then it’s harder and harder to eat healthily.

I usually wake up at about 8am if I’m not working and I always have a glass of lemon and water to start off the day.

My favorite Australian foods are vegemite, Heinz baked beans, Tim Tams, Milo and a good bonsoy latte. These would have to be my weaknesses but if you like something and want to eat it, then go for it. You don’t have to eat the whole packet of Tim Tams but one or two won’t hurt.

For food, just be conscious of where it’s coming from and think about how much energy it took to get to the food in front of you.

Think colourful, crunchy and pretty food! That always helps me. There are so many great organic options and you should always try and get your protein in, along with veggies and a few carbs.

Carbs aren’t bad for you – brown, wholemeal or soy and linseed are my fave!!!! And healthy fats like avocados and almonds are great for your skin and your inner health.

For dinner I’ll either eat some sushi or Thai food. I love Thai food and I often crave it.

I pretty much eat whatever I want but if I’ve had a few biscuits or I’ve splurged on a hot chocolate, I might walk down the road to do my grocery shopping or to meet a friend, rather than drive or catch the train.

I’m a firm believer in not depriving your body of anything. If you feel like a piece of chocolate, have it. There are healthy options out there. Australia has such amazing produce so you can really find amazing stuff that’s good for your body.

Jessica Gomes Fitness Secrets and Routine

I’ve been modeling for 10 years and I’ve literally tried everything. Finally, I found something that has changed my body and really works. I am based in L.A. so I have access to celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson‘s studio . I work out three to four times a week for an hour there and really enjoy the dance-inspired classes.

During my days I also think it’s good to keep moving and keep your metabolism going.

Everyone should try and squeeze in a 10 minute walk into their day. A plan always helps so you’ve got a bit of a routine and you make yourself go outside and get some fresh air.

Since I’m usually working while I’m traveling, I’m keeping active. I just do yoga and stretching and drink lots of water and eat healthily. It’s so hard because we tend to crave junk food while we’re traveling so I bring my own snacks from Whole Foods so I’m not tempted.

I’ve learned not to ‘overwork’ my body. Days of rest in between workouts are so important! In the beginning, I’d work out like crazy, every day for two hours a day, and I noticed my body would just hang onto the fat. Getting enough sleep and days of rest are a priority now.

I try to go for a jog for about 30 minutes and then I’ll do some pilates or yoga for one hour, which are both really good for toning and alignment of the body.

At the moment I’m trying to make sure that I do three sessions of pilates each week, two sessions of yoga and go for a jog every day. Exercise makes you feel good and it increases your motivation.

I used to do boxing training but I find that it beefs you up a bit so I’m giving yoga and pilates a go. I think the key is to always change it up and make it fun!

I like to wear sexy exercise gear when I’m working out that makes me feel good about myself and I also find that I’m more motivated to keep going if I feel good.

Music is also a great way to keep your motivation going, so my favorite music at the moment is: anything Beyonce, Jay Z, Kings of Leon, Lauren Hill and anything upbeat that keeps me going.
