Karlie Kloss Skincare Secrets and Routine

I use a lotion called Embryolisse. It’s just a really good light cream—not too oily and not too thick.

I love Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir—I literally can’t wake up properly without it.

I also like Joanna Vargas’s Daily Serum and Estée Lauder’s Hydrationist moisturizer; I mix the two together to get the perfect texture.

Labello for lips, is my favorite—so creamy, and Christian Dior’s balm; it smells like roses.

I also like misting my face with rose water in morning. It’s so refreshing! It’s moisturizing and great for the winter when my skin gets really dry.

The Arbonne line is great too; my mother agent Mary [Clarke] got me hooked on it. I use the Nurturing Day Lotion that smells like kiwi, and the Hydrating Cleanser + Freshener, just really good, simple, fresh and light.

And Julien D’Ys told me about Pond’s—good old Pond’s Cold Cream; he said it’s the best to get makeup off and he’s right. After a show when I have tons of thick mascara and piled on stuff, I just slap on a big dollop of this—it’s a démaquillant and cream all in one. All the girls in the old days—all the supermodels—this is what they carried around. It’s the old-school cheap trick.

One of my favourite things to do before the VS show and the regular show season is to treat myself to an oxygen facial at Bliss Spa.

I just got my first bottle of Lola, with the gorgeous lid. I also have this travel-sized guy of it which I’ll carry around in my purse. I never leave the house without a little bit of Lola!

For makeup I love Lancôme’s Définicils mascara.

I… can’t live without Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage—I actually use it to do a nude lip; my lips are really dark so I like to take the color down a little bit. It’s truly the best concealer.

…the Madina [Milano] stick is really good—you can only get it in Italy. Literally, Pat McGrath, the way she gets the dewy, glowy skin—the secret, I swear, is in this stick. You just apply as a highlighter on the nose, cheeks, under the eyebrows, and on the Cupid’s Bow on the upper lip—it’s magic.

But I like to stay pretty simple. On a normal day… I’ll do some lip balm and use some mascara and maybe a little blush.

I have to say, I just got new toothpaste—Crest 3-D White Advanced Vivid—and I swear, it works like magic. I’ve used it for a week and my teeth are blindingly white.

I’m doing Invisalign—I just pop them in; I only wear them at night because I can’t talk when they’re in and it’s embarrassing. But I think they’re way better than braces.

It’s all about using great products, that’s what makes the difference.

Curling your eyelashes makes a huge difference. It’s really about the small, subtle things and great products.

You need to use the right makeup brushes. That’s one thing I’ve definitely invested in.

I actually love the lip pencils they have at Victoria’s Secret. They had them backstage at the show and I’ve been using them ever since.

I love this rose-scented nail polish [Dior Vernis scented lacquer] —every girl likes to do her nails, but it can be so stinky. This is such a simple smart solution.

Makeup-wise, I use M.A.C. eyeliners and cream blush from Illamasqua. Cream blush is so much easier to use than powder and looks more natural. I’m really active and always on the move, so I have to keep everything simple.

I just started using Latisse! Everyone was telling me about it so I went to my eye doctor to find out more. I was scared at first because I read it could change your eye color, but I decided to try it. I’m literally two days into it and keep checking my lashes in the mirror to see if they’ve grown!

[Must-have makeup essentials include] Clinique SPF 15 City Block, Lancome Juicy Tubes and Bobbi Brown mascara.

Karlie Kloss Hair Secrets and Routine

There’s this one really good conditioner that I use called Nexxus Humectress. It’s a simple conditioner but for some reason it works perfectly on my hair and I love it.

Experimenting with your hair is such a fun way to switch up your style, and it is less expensive than a whole new wardrobe.

My hair was really temperamental for a while, after being dyed dark and light and red, so I started using Oribe’s products and they’re great—I love the Shampoo For Beautiful Color.

Jessica Stam told me about Viviscal supplements. I bought a 3-month supply—you take one in the morning and one at night, and literally the difference in my hair is like night and day. It has some sort of marine complex—some kind of fish oil—whatever it is, it’s amazing.

Orlando Pita [hairstylist] has this hairdryer, the T3, and I use it all the time at home.

Karlie Kloss Diet Secrets and Routine

I love to make just really yummy, clean, boring protein shakes with chocolate protein powder, almond milk, and banana or blackberries.

I always make time to stop at this little coffee shop on the corner because they make a mean almond milk cappuccino.

I carry a picnic in my purse at all times, with things like hot chocolate packets and oatmeal packets–things you can just add hot water to on the go. And I like Kind granola bars, or an apple–I like to have little things that I can just eat. I’m the Queen of Snacks.

I always have Karlie’s Kookies in my bag, especially at shows. It’s a healthy cookie because it’s vegan and it’s made of almond flour, oats, dark chocolate chips, agave, and olive oil, so it’s something you can indulge in and not feel too guilty about.

Egg whites are also a staple for me–they’re a great source of protein and I can always have them no matter where in the world I’m working. I love my egg whites swimming in Cholula hot sauce or ketchup.

I like to have fruit in the morning, too, and in Italy, they had the most delicious mangoes, even apples, grapes. I don’t know if it’s because they don’t use pesticides or if they don’t use chemicals, but the fruit in Europe is delicious.

I like things that taste kind of like candy and are supposedly healthy–like chocolate protein bars–but in reality they’re probably not very healthy, but I feel like it’s slightly better than a candy bar.

Karlie Kloss Fitness Secrets and Routine

I’ve always just been incredibly physical. In high school I did sports and ballet.

With all the traveling it’s hard to have a consistent routine. So I got a trainer, just because, I don’t know? Just for the heck of it. And it’s been amazing.

[My 3 fitness tips include] forming a routine you can stick to because consistency is key, crucial to living a healthy lifestyle is maintaining a balanced diet [and] drink as much water as possible, it is great for your body and skin!

I studied classical ballet and dance for years, and I continue to always be very active. Whether running, biking, swimming, or dancing, I just like to always be on the move.
